In The Italian “Uisp” Amateur Championship, a team, mainly composed of Moroccan immigrants, is performing under the name “Agadir-Casablanca.”

The team decided recently to pull out from the Italian championship due to the increasingly unbearable racist chants and insults received every week from Italian supporters during matches, as reported by many Italian media outlets.

At the first place, the team decided to disregard the chants, yet recently it could not bear anymore those racist insults.

The latest episode which saw the team take such a decision occurred last week while “Agadir-Casablanca” was leading by 3-0 against Club juventinità di Forlimpopoli.  ”Go back home Moroccans…” “Go Back to your country”, “We don’t want you” and many more slogans were shotten out during the whole game.

According to Ansamed, “Players immediately warned the referee but no measure was taken and this convinced the team to pull out, said Rachid Hansal, the 41-year-old captain, a former professional player in Morocco’s top league.”

Rachid Hansal Added to the same source”, such a thing happened every Saturday. We can’t stand it any longer. And now we are not playing anymore. We also sent a petition to Uisp in which we named the person who made the statement. What is certain is that we will not stand similar offences anymore. The time had come to do something, to take a strong decision. And we did it”. So next Saturday, Casablanca will not be playing.”
