Real Madrid C.F (RM) made it to the quarter finals of the Champions League, the most important clubs’ championships in Europe, by beating F.C Schalke 04, with a total of 9-2 in the two games that they played during the 16th round of the competition.
After an easy win in Germany (1-6), Los Blancos started the return game in their home with several key players missing from the starting eleven, such as Di Maria and Pepe. Yet, Ronaldo and Bale’s presence was enough to give Madrid a comfortable 3-1 lead over the German team.
The unfortunate news for RM fans is the injury of the young talent Jese Rodriguez in the 8th minute of the game after a shoulder charge in the back from Schalke defender Saed Kolasinac. Jese will be withdrawn for at least 4 months due to the severeness of the injury.
Real Madrid now has to concentrate on the upcoming fixture in la Liga next Sunday against their rivals F.C Barcelona in a Clasico that might decide the league winners.
