The Moroccan Office for Road Funding and the European Investment Bank (Caisse pour le Financement Routier) signed a €150 million financing.
According to the European Neighborhood Center, a total of 1,650km of roads are to be widened, part of this project.
The Moroccan authorities will be following special “security measures” when building new roads and widening others. This is aimed at reducing the number of accidents in Morocco.
The project also aims to improving the living conditions of Moroccans living in isolated rural areas by linking /improving the access to such areas.
