Moroccan Health Minister: 20% of Moroccan children and youth suffer from mental disorders

Moroccan Minister of Health Mr. El Houssine Louardi said yesterday, citing a World Health Organization (WHO) report, around  20% of children and youth in Morocco suffer from mental disorders.

The Minister also said that  half of those cases suffer either from insomnia, anxiety, or depression.

According to the same WHO report Mr.Louardi was citing, 16% of Moroccan students aged  between 13 and 15 smoke, 6% consume alcohol, 4% use drugs, and 14 % had attempted suicide, at least once.

Strikingly, according to the same report, 82% of this same category is physically inactive while 30% are, or had been, victims of violence.
