Five people, including a journalist, were killed in Cairo this Friday, during clashes between police and supporters of the imprisoned President, Mohamed Morsi. The protesters marched in cities across Egypt to protest the presidential candidacy of the Ex-Army Chief, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The private newspaper “Al-Dustour” confirmed the death of its journalist, Mayada Ashraf, while she was covering a demonstration in the area of Ain Shams, north of the capital.
While the Interior Ministry spokesman accused Morsi supporters of being responsible of the deaths, many protesters on their own turn, reported that the police opened fire once the gathering began to disperse.
