A US district court has ordered Samsung to pay 930 million dollars in damages to Apple.

The California court on Thursday upheld a jury verdict last November that the South Korean electronics giant had infringed Apple’s smartphone and tablet-related patents.

In a separate order, the court rejected Apple’s request to ban Samsung from selling 23 models in the US.

The court said Apple had not presented enough evidence to show that Samsung had infringed its patents.

The 2 companies are to enter another trial in the same Californian court later this month.

In that lawsuit, Apple accuses Samsung of infringing its patents by producing the Galaxy S III and other new models.
