According to Moroccan press reports, U.S. President Barack Obama agreed, in an unprecedented move, to finance Morocco’s economic and social development projects in Morocco’s Western Sahara region.
This decision came few months after President Obama received King Mohammed VI of Morocco in the white house.
According to Moroccan political observers, this step is a “historical unprecedented move” from the white house, and indicates Washington’s new vision in Morocco’s Sahara conflict: advocating the region’s social and economic development.
