Moroccan Prime Minister, Abdelilah Benkirane, hailed the significant results that were achieved by the National Bureau of Hydrocarbon and minerals, which has significantly raised both the budget allocated for investment in oil exploration, and the number of partners in the field from 10 to 34.

Benkirane has attributed this increase in the size of investment that Morocco has been able to attract through different multinationals, to the political and social stability of Morocco, on top of the country’s promising potential in oil and metals.

The National Bureau of Hydrocarbon and minerals has recorded a positive outcome on 2013, by targeting over 394 kilometers square, with 52 licenses for “onshore” exploring, and 90 licenses “offshore”.

Also, the director of the same office, Amina Benkhadra, declared that Morocco’s private partners will dedicate 5 billion dirhams in 2014 to be invested in the hydrocarbon and metals sector, where 27 wells are to be drilled both on land and sea.
