More than 50 associations will march on Sunday April,13 starting 10:30 from Bab El Had in Rabat, to call upon the Moroccan government for the application of Article 19 of the Moroccan constitution, which aims at establishing gender equality.
“This march is not exclusive for women groups, yet it’s open for all the civil society components, to say, together, stop for restraining and declining women status” said Fouzia Assouli, President of the Women’s Rights Democratic Federation Line and coordinator of this marching event.
A petition has also been launched to denounce the government’s lateness in the application of the “Gender Parity” article of the Moroccan constitution. This petition, has been signed by around 200 civil society associations, for the time being.
