Customs Services announced Sunday the seizure of 13,400 packs of smuggled cigarettes from Algeria.
According to Au Fait Maroc news outlet, Customs services have carried this operation in cooperation with the Royal Gendarmerie of Taourit, following information received regarding a load of smuggled cigarettes using a vehicle coming from Beni Drar.
The cooperation of both bodies, after a long chase and strong resistance from the smugglers, led to the arrest of the driver and his accomplice, as well as the seizure of the cigarettes and the vehicle carrying them.
