The Ministry of General Affairs and Governance is inspecting some 137 industrial mills that produce flour from soft wheat. A specialised team from the EL Ouafa’s ministry will be organising visits to these mills from 14th of April until the 20th of May.
On Thursday, a statement from the Ministry declared that “The purpose of these visits is to gather information about the milling activity of these units in relation to crushing wheat and flour production, including the production of the wheat flour which is subsidized through the ‘ Interprofessionnel National Office for Grains and Vegetables’.
According to the same source, this operation is part of an evaluation of the distribution of the quota for wheat flour between provinces, prefectures and industrial mills during the first half of 2014, as well as to prepare for the distribution to be adopted during the period from 1 July to 31 December 2014.
Quota allocation of wheat flour is made by the interdepartmental commission, which is in charge of fixing quotas for provinces, prefectures and centers affiliated to them. This committee gathers twice a year to perform its duties.
