King Mohammed VI Preforms the Friday Prayer in Dakhla

In  the framework of a visit to Dakhla, King Mohammed VI performed the Friday prayer rituals in Essalam mosque today.

According to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP), King Mohammed VI was accompanied by Ivory Coast’s Minister of the Interior & Security Hamed Bakayoko,  with whom he had an audience after the Friday prayer.

Mohammed VI’s visit to Dakhla comes only few days ahead of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting to examine the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) mandate. In his report to the the UNSC last week, UN secretary General Ban Ki Moon recommended to implement mechanisms for the surveillance of human rights in the region.

King Mohammed VI’s last visit to Dakhla goes back to 2001.
