Guinean president Alpha Condé said yesterday, upon his arrival to Morocco, that Guinea will continue supporting the autonomy proposal submitted by Morocco to settle the Sahara issue.

Moroccan Press Agency (La MAP) reported him saying that “Guinea will continue supporting Morocco’s stand and we support the proposal by Morocco at the UN”

“We hope that this dispute will be settled quickly”.

On a sideline note, Mr Alpha Condé also wished the swift return of Morocco to the African Union (AU), as relayed by the same source.

He said: “We hope that Morocco recovers its place as soon as possible within the African Union of which he is a founding member, he said, deeming as “unusual” the absence of Morocco from the Pan African organization”.
