Road Rage In Morocco: Another Deadly and Costly Week

Between April 21st and April 27th, 919 car accidents in Morocco have caused 14 casualties, 1,168 injured of which 71 are in a critical condition, announced the General Directorate of National Security (DGNS) in a statement.

These accidents are due to several reasons such as speeding, failure to respect priority, changing directions without signalling, non-compliance with stop signs and driving under the influence of alcohol, adds the same source.

Regarding the control and the restraint of traffic offenses, security services have reported 39,368 offenses, of which 18,189 were submitted to court, and 21,179 recovered through fines.

The same source concluded that 7.5 million dirhams was recovered, 5,416 vehicles were tolled, 12,522 driving licences were withdrawn and 251 vehicles seized.
