According to a statement made on Monday by the Moroccan Ministry of Equipment, Transportation and Logistics, Morocco will officially be admitted to the SAFA (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) program starting the 26th of March.

This admission will make of Morocco the 44th member of this program and the only non-European country to join it.

The Ministry says that Morocco’s membership will allow the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to access all of SAFA’s inspection reports as well as their database, as relayed by MAP.

The request for membership was submitted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation since the signing of an agreement for cooperation and exchange of information on aircraft safety with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) on the 21st of March 2011.
