Four European citizens of Moroccan origin and two Moroccan citizens were arrested this Saturday by the police and the DGST, as they were subject to international arrest warrants.

The European citizens’ warrants were issued by the Belgian and Dutch judicial authorities for their involvement in attempted voluntary manslaughter, armed robbery against companies of fund transport, theft of large quantities of jewellery in a European airport and an armed attack against a Belgian hospital to arrange the escape of an inmate.

One of the Moroccan citizens arrested was being sought by the prosecution of the court of first instance in Tangier for international drug trafficking. The second one was sought by the judicial police of Tangier for creating an armed gang related to last February’s robbery of a service station and stealing a sum of almost 420,000 dirhams.
