National Security Forces were able to dismantle two gangs that smuggled mostly fuel and cigarettes from Algeria.
On Thursday, police authorities were also able to seize 280.000 packs of smuggled cigarettes in Casablanca, relays le360 from one of their informed sources. The value of the seized goods in Casablanca is estimated to be around 1 million dirhams.
5 gang members were arrested and other accomplices are still sought by security forces.
In Oujda, the police seized 14,000 cigarettes as well as 3.000 litres of petrol that was smuggled from Algeria.
Both operations came in the context of fighting organised crime and have resulted in the arrest of dozens of individuals.
