The PAM Party has announced on Friday the proposition of a new bill that they have filed to grant amnesty to 48.000 cannabis (kif) farmers.

Granting general amnesty is a constitutional right for the Parliament, said the head of the PAM advisor group Hakim Benchemass during a press conference in the House of Councillors in Rabat, relayed by le360 news outlet.

The same party’s spokesman has declared that “Kif farmers were sentenced to different terms in absentia by courts of the north of the Kingdom. They are the source of income for more than a million persons”.

The party was able to gather positive support from many among the elected politicians.

Mr. Benchemass has also stressed again on a new bill proposition, which calls for legalising cannabis for industrial and medical purposes.
