Amnesty International has addressed a letter to the new king of Spain, Felipe VI, requesting him to discuss the protection of human rights with Moroccan leaders during his official visit to the kingdom, scheduled for July 14 and 15.

The NGO, highlighted the case of the journalist Ali Anzoula who was “arrested last September for posting a link to a video of AQMI on his media outlet Lakome.com”.

Amnesty also recalled the “excessive use of violence against protesters, torture during detention and the systematic jailing of journalists, who criticize the monarchy”.
