Card Payments Increased By 16.7% At The end of 2013

The number of card payments in Morocco reached 25.5 million transactions worth 12.2 billion dirhams, which marks a 16.7% increase in the number of transactions and 14.6% in their value. This was published on the Central Bank’s statistics report on the instruments of payment at the end of 2013.

Internet payments, which are sought more by users, have recorded an increase of 42.3% in number of transactions and 28.1% in their value, marking nearly 1.7 million transactions worth 910.7 million dirhams.

Although, these two payment methods have logged a significant increase, cash withdrawal continues to represent the most used operation via credit and debit cards.
