Security sources said on Monday that the alleged attacker of the Moroccan Rabbi Moshe Ohayon was arrested in Casablanca, reports Aufait news outlet. The attacker was arrested following a second attack against a Moroccan citizen of Jewish faith, as reported in Alyaoum 24.

The alleged offender was easily identified by his victims and, according to police authorities, suffered a mental illness.

The first attack against Moshe Ohayon caused him three broken ribs, according to relatives interviewed by AFP.

It is important to note that Morocco has about 5,000 Jewish citizens, which represent the principal North African Jewish Community; they were nearly 300,000 in numbers in the middle of last century.
