The growth rate of the Moroccan economy stood at 2.3% in the second quarter of 2014, against a 1.7 % growth rate registered for the first quarter, according to Morocco’s High Commission for planning (HCP).
According to said source, the growth rate of non-agricultural activities has accelerated, reaching 3.2%, while agricultural activities has experienced a decline of 2.9%, due to an unfavorable rainfall season, explained the HCP.
Energy activities witnessed a slowdown with only an increase of 3.8% in the second quarter, against a witnessed 4.8% increase three months earlier.
In the industrial sector, an increase of 1.1% has been witnessed as the sector hit a 2% growth rate, against 0.9% in the first quarter.
