Minister of Interior, Mohamed Hassad, has announced on Tuesday in Parliament that Morocco is undergoing the construction of a fence along the border with Algeria, in order to protect the Kingdom from terrorist threats on the Sahel region, reports le360 news outlet.

“Morocco is building a fence with electronic sensors in order to protect itself against terrorist threats”, said Mohamed Hassad in response to a question regarding the high alert plan that was implemented by Morocco against the possible terrorist threats.

It is important to note that Morocco declared a state of alert since the establishment of the Islamic State (Caliphate) on the hands of militants that control the northern and western regions of Iraq, as well as the east of Syria, eradicating the century old colonial borders between the two Middle Eastern countries.
