Only one week following his arrest, after he was caught red-handed sexually assaulting a 10 year-old boy inside his grocery shop in Al Nakhil neighborhood in Marrakesh, a Moroccan court sentenced the Pedophile to 2 years in prison, Telquel reported.
The grocer was sentenced by the Criminal Court of First Instance of Marrakech. He was also ordered to pay 10,000 Dhs as a compensation for the victim’s family.
Contacted by Telquel, Abderrafii Oumliki, the general secretary of the Association Do Not Touch My Kid, has confirmed the judgment against the culprit, but showed regret over the minim sentences the pedophile was subject to.
Mr. Oumliki said: “This case should have been presented before the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal, which is responsible for such crimes, and not the Criminal Court of First Instance of Marrakech.”
It is worth mentioning that the Article 484 of the Moroccan Penal Code penalizes acts of pedophilia’s committers from 2 to 5 years of jail.
