Casablanca: 195 Tons Of Damaged Goods Destroyed During The Second Week of Ramadan

Hygienic control operations of consumed goods have been intensified during the second week of the month of Ramadan; authorities were able to seize in the Great Casablanca region alone some 195 tons of spoiled food products, reports Aujourd’hui news outlet.

These control operations have led to the seizure of 185 tons of red meat, 6 tons of white meat, 3.7 tons of fish and almost one ton of vegetables.

A week ago, the brigades of the National Office for Sanitary Safety of Consumed Goods destroyed more than 25 tons of improper products.

In terms of imports, authorities have checked some 78.566 tons of good products; 356 import files were processed and 72 samples were analysed. This has led to the discard of 6.4 tons of products compared to 18.4 during the first week of Ramadan.
