In a time record since Morocco declared its intention to erect an electronic fence along its borders with Algeria, in order to protect the country from the threat of terrorism, the authorities said they have finished building around 40 Kms, out of 70, of the fence that will be standing from the Moroccan city of Saaidia to the Benni Hamdoune tribe.

While the electronic fence will be erected along 70 Kms, its height will float around 3 meters.

The fence will only be erected in “difficult regions to monitor,” that witness smuggling operations between Morocco and Algeria.

It is worth reminding  that Morocco decided to build the fence in question right after the emergence of some reports that revealed that the country may be under serious threats of terrorism as a result of the loose situation in the Sahel, in addition to the return of Moroccan Jihadists belonging to the terrorist organization ISIL.
