On Thursday, Morocco and Qatar have signed the executive program for the implementation of the 1.25 billion dollars grant, which will be used to fund a series of socio-economic projects in the Kingdom, reports Aujourd’hui.

The program was signed by Minister of Finance Mohamed Boussaid, and the Director General of the Qatari Development Fund, Mohamed Al Marikhi.

It is important to note that the Qatari grant was decided upon an agreement signed on September 27th in Marrakech, in the presence of King Mohammed VI and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Ben Ahmed Al Thani.

The signing of this program will allow for the gradual release of the 1.25 billion dollars that will fund 15 projects, especially in the areas of health, agriculture, maritime fishery and social housing.

A few months ago, Morocco has received 500 million dollars from Qatar. Mr Boussaid said that this contribution will start a new page in the qualitative cooperation between the two countries and will help achieve the objectives of the model partnership between Morocco and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
