Elections: Morocco Lauds Libyans’ efforts for Democratic Transition

On the sidelines of the announcement of the final results of the recent parliamentary elections of 21st July 2014 in Libya, a press communiqué from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs read the following:
“Following the announcement of the final results of the recent parliamentary elections of 21st July 2014, in the brotherly Libya, the Kingdom the Kingdom of Morocco welcomes the tireless efforts made by the Libyan people in the democratic transition process, and their continued efforts to build the institutions and the consolidation of the rule of law.  The Kingdom of Morocco also commends the efforts of the National Elections Commission in ensuring the elections’ success, and seizes this opportunity to express its warmest congratulations to the brotherly Libyan people on this historic achievement.”

“The Kingdom of Morocco also reiterates its full support to the brotherly State of Libya in its efforts aiming at moving forward beyond this transitional phase, hoping that this step will provide the proper conditions for a substantial national dialogue characterized by a positive and constructive spirit, and the full commitment of all the Libyan political actors in completing the phases in the roadmap, in order to reach a political consensus and a national reconciliation that fulfil the aspirations of the Libyan people in security, stability, development, and prosperity, and thus sparing the country the scourge of violence and chaos,” the statement closed.
