Casablanca’s Buildings Collapse Investigation: Former Minister Badou Summoned by the Police

According to a story published this morning on the Moroccan daily Assabah, part of the 3 Casablanca’s buildings collapse investigation to determine all responsible people for the disaster, the head of the district of Casablanca Anfa and former Health MinisterYasmina Badou was summoned by the police for a hearing on the disaster.

The Moroccan daily said that the former Health Minister was spotted last Friday afternoon in Casablanca’s police headquarters.

According to said source, Yasmina Badou spent, in the greatest secrecy, more than three hours in the investigator’s office.

“The appearance of the head of the municipality of Anfa is undoubtedly a turning point in this case,” the source added.

It is worth highlighting that up to know 5 people were incarcerated following the collapse of the three buildings.

The list includes the two sons of the owner of the building that triggered the collapse, a minor official of the Ministry of Interior, the contractor in charge of the restoration works that were taking place in the eve of the buildings’ collapse and the architect of the building that triggered the collapse.

The owner of the building won’t stand before justice as his body was pulled out lifeless from the rubble.
