A total of 10 illegal sub-Saharan migrants were rescued Monday morning in waters next to the Strait of Gibraltar. These individuals were trying to reach the Spanish coast using a makeshift boat, reports Alyaoum24 and Aufait news outlets.
The Spanish Rescue Services received a call from a ferry linking Algeciras to Tangier-Med port, alerting them of the aforementioned boat.
All migrants (eight men and two women) are in good health. They were taken by a rescue boat to the Tarifa port, where they received the necessary assistance from the Red Cross.
These illegal migrants will be placed in a center for foreigners in an irregular situation pending their deportation to their countries of origin, according the Spanish Rescue Services.
