International media linked today an expected transfer of the International Moroccan captain Mehdi Benatia from As Roma to Real Madrid.
The Spanish club is expecting the departure of Pepe to As Monaco in this summer, ergo he wants Benatia as an alternative.
The rumors made the president of As Roma Pallotta speak out about the Moroccan talisman. He said the following:
”
Benatia? He’s never been on the market. He’s our player and is important for the team and this season.’
“You never say never in football. That said, it’s not our intention to lose our best players,” he added.
Note that Mehdi Benatia was linked with Chelsea and FC Barcelona at the beginning of the Mercato. However, Pallotta convinced him to spend at least another year defending the wolves jersey.
It would be interesting to see if Real Madrid will convince the player and the As Roma administration to let Benatia joing Los Blancos.
