An U.S. official, quoted by Agence France Press, said that King Mohamed VI won’t Attend the Africa summit hosted by President Barack Obama.

“The Egyptian president and the king of Morocco won’t come to the summit,” the official told AFP.

Nevertheless, reports from Morocco say that King Mohammed VI will send a representative to the summit.

The African Summit is deemed as the greatest ever concentration of African leadership in Washington.

Political analysts say that the event, which will gather most African leaders, is an attempt from Barack Obama, the first elected black American president, to “redress the balance” as he did not make Africa a priority in his first term of presidency.
