Leading Sports outlet Goal.com said in one of its articles that Morocco “has had its share” of the Ebola epidemic (photo underneath).

Goal.com reporting of Ebola Case in Morocco not true.

The Moroccan Times would like to confirm that the news shared on the leading sports outlet is all but true.

As a matter of fact, the article’s writer did not even dare  mentioning a source for such a “sweeping piece of information.”

On another note, TMT has noticed that some countries probably hire some individuals to concoct false news about Morocco so that tourists swap Morocco for other destinations.

Our articles on the Ebola keep receiving comments of the like: “EBOLA IN MOROCCO IT’S REAL ANOTHER 3 PERSONS DIES OF THIS DISEASE 2 IN AGADIR AND ONE IN CASABLANCA…SHAME ON MOROCCAN GOVERNMENT TO HIDE THIS ISSUE. BECAUSE OF SUMMER SEASON AND LOTS OF TOURISTS MIGHT BE AFRAID …IS THIS RIGHT…???”

Again, following the last statement made by the Moroccan Ministry of Health, we confirm that Morocco is Ebola-free and that those comments are all but true.

After analyzing the IP addresses of those comments, we have noticed that those individuals use Chinese IP addresses to conceal their identity.

Theoretically, Morocco will be immune to Ebola as the only way that the virus  could get to Morocco is through the country’s international airports, as the borders with Algeria are closed, while in the south of the country, a 2700 km-long  wall is separating Morocco from other territories occupied by the Polisario Front.

On the airports level, the Moroccan Ministry of Health is following the measures of the International Health System, and has strengthened the process of health monitoring at the level of the aforementioned access points since the outbreak of the deadly disease from Guinea.
