Two Headed Dolphin Found on Beach in Turkey

According to Turkish media reports, a 39-year Turkish citizen discovered a two-headed dolphin “that washed up on a beach in western Turkey,” Today’s Zaman reported.

The man who discovered the strange creature goes by the name Tugrul Metin and works as a gym teacher.
He was training in a beach located on the west coast of Turkey near the city of Izmir before comming across the lifeless dolphin after he washed up on the beach.

“I couldn’t take it in at first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.”

“I’ve never even heard about a dolphin like this let alone seen one with my own eyes. I was completely shocked.”

Mehmet Gokoglu, a biologist at a the Turkish Deniz University told reporters that “they will study the two-headed dolphin”  and that “he was excited at the chance to study the mammal.”

“Such a dolphin is a very rare occurrence — similar to the occurrence of conjoined human twins,” Gokoglu added.

It is worth reminding that recently in Morocco, a similar case was reported as a calf was born with two-heads as well.
