According to a recent story shared on the leading Moroccan Economy news-outlet Leconomiste, some Marjane retails across Morocco did not carry on selling alcoholic beverages after the folding of the month of Ramadan, namely the retails in Agadir, Fez, Tetouan, and Marrakech.

The said source said added that Marjane outlets in question withdrew alcoholic beverages, as the norm dictates in Ramadan, from their retails with the unveiling of the Muslim’s holiest month, yet they did not resume on selling spirits products after the end of Ramadan.

Leconomiste added that they kept contacting the Marjane administration to investigate the matter and get more details on the subject, but all their efforts went in vein as the group’s management could not be reached.

It is worth reminding that two years ago, Marjane denied reports that the group was stopping “for good” sales of alcoholic beverages.
