A French gang, with Kalashnikov-wielding elements, attacked the motorcade of a Saudi prince in Paris, robing the fancy Mercedes car, a total amount of 250,000 euros in cash, and stealing “sensitive documents”, the French Agency Press AFP reported.

The operation took place in Northern Paris as the motorcade was making its way from the Saudi embassy to an airport in Le Bourget, said police elements, AFP reported.

“It’s quite an unusual attack. They were obviously well-informed. It’s true that it’s quite a rare way of operating,” a police source told AFP.

Reports from French media indicate that the attack took place late on Sunday around Porte de la Chapelle in northern Paris.

The same reports indicate that the numbers of elements from the gang in question amounted to eight and that nobody was injured during the attack.

The robbed Mercedes car was found later on burned along with other cars used by the gang to conduct the attack.

For the time being, no suspects have yet been apprehended and the identity of the Saudi prince was not revealed.
