Morocco Still Spain’s “Favorite Customer” in Africa

According to statistics revealed by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and relayed by the leading Moroccan news economy outlet Leconomiste, Morocco is still the first African destination for Spanish exports.

As a matter of fact, Spain’s exports to Morocco rose to 6.9% in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, namely recording an increase of 2.97 billion euros.

The 6.9% hike represent an increase of 2.5% of total Spanish exports.

For what concerns the last month of June alone, Spanish exports to Morocco witnessed a net increase of 21.2%, namely to reach EUR 580.3 million.

According to said sourceĀ Leconomiste, Spain has overtaken France’s long-term status of being Morocco’s first source of imports in the last two years.
