Le 360.ma said that Qatar has granted the kingdom of Morocco a further donation of more than one billion Moroccan Dirhams, a move that has nothing to do with the joint program between Morocco and the the Gulf Cooperation Council countries signed last July.
The Minister of Economy and Finance Mr. Boussaïd Mohammed signed this morning with his Qatari counterpart, Ali Sheriff Al Emadi, an agreement to grant the kingdom an exact amount of $ 136 million.
“This has nothing to do with the 12 billion agreement signed in late July, following the agreement between Morocco and countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Morocco,” Mohammed Boussaid told le 360.
According to said source, this new agreement covers two new projects. The first concerns the irrigation of 2,500 hectares in the province of Ouezzane, while the second one concerns the organization of rangelands in the regions of Sous Massa Draa and Guelmim-Es Smara.
“This confirms our privileged relationship with Qatar, and especially the ability of the kingdom to diversify its sources of funding,” the Moroccan Minister told le 360.
