After the preliminary investigations led by the joint finance-interior committee, around twenty CGI directors, allegedly linked to the Al-Hoceima housing projects, were forbidden from leaving the Moroccan territory.
These high positioned CGI directors have been investigated by the judicial police, based on the preliminary findings and data gathered by the Joint Finance-Interior Committee, established upon the request of King Mohammed VI.
The inspecting commission has already reviewed two CGI projects in Al-Hoceima. The first is Aït Qamra (20 kilometers away from Al Hoceima) and the second is Issaguen ( around 100 kilometers away from said city).
It is worth reminding that most beneficiaries of the housing project in question that triggered the investigation are Moroccans living abroad.
King Mohammed VI ordered the start of the investigation following the reception of a collective grievance by the beneficiaries of the said housing-projects, directed by the General Properties Company (CGI) subsidiary of CDG.
