On the sidelines of the Ebola outbreak, Air France has accepted the French government’s request to “temporarily suspend” all its flight to Sierra Leone, but maintained other flights to Guinea and Nigeria, two countries where cases of Ebola have been reported.
Royal Air Maroc, on the other hand, maintained its flights to all the aforementioned countries.
On the sidelines of the decision to maintain its flights to Sierra Lione while many other companies suspended all their schedules to said country, the French Agency Press (AFP) reported Royal Air Maroc’s spokesman, Hakim Challot, saying the following:
“Our approach is supportive rather than mercenary.”
The man told AFP “that only about 10 per cent of seats are being filled.”
It is worth pointing out that on Tuesday British Airways also announced that it was stopping flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone, a decision which the company said may be revoked until 2015.
Brussels Airlines as well stopped it four weekly flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone and three to Guinea last Saturday.
