Stretch of Casablanca-Agadir Highway Closed 2 Weeks for “Mission Impossible V” Shooting

Local media reported that a section of the highway linking Casablanca to Agadir will be closed starting from tomorrow, until midnight on September 12, to allow the filming of “Mission Impossible 5,”  which has already started in different locations in Morocco.

According to said sources, a 15-kilometer (nine-mile) stretch of the Casablanca-Agadir highway will be be closed.

The local media reports did not explicitly specify which stretch of the said highway will be closed, especially that the distance between Casablanca and Agadir is around 453 Kms.

According to local reports, the well-known American actor Tom Cruise has already arrived to Morocco for the shooting of  “Mission: Impossible 5.”

Morocco is well-known for its shooting locations and is described by movie-directors as the new “raising star” Hollywood. As a matter of fact, Moroccans nickname Ouarzazate the “The Hollywood of Africa.”

Well-known movies produced in Morocco include“Lawrence of Arabia” (1962), “Gladiator” (1999) and Babel (2006).
