Four ISIS Militants Jailed in Morocco

According to the official Moroccan state news agency La MAP, Morocco has jailed four men convicted of planning to join jihadists who fight against the Syrian regime. They received jail sentences ranging from three to five years.

Morocco has expressed on multiple occasions its deep concern over the number of Moroccans fighting in Syria and Iraq. Last week, seven Moroccans detained for recruiting fighters, were sentenced to between one and four years in prison.

Security measures have also been reinforced at the Casablanca airport after news that about 45 ISIS militants were planning to come back to Morocco.

According to the Moroccan government, over 200 Moroccans who fought with ISIS have been arrested upon their return to the country.
