Gulf Countries Call Upon Morocco’s ARMY to Join the Fight Against Islamic State

Several Moroccan newspapers reported today that “the Gulf countries are trying to persuade Morocco to join their armies in the war against the terrorist organization of the Islamic state”.

In fact, negotiations regarding joint military exercises are even taking place so that units from the Moroccan, Egyptian and Jordanian armies can join the Peninsula Shield, a joint army formed by the five countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Several American officials and congressmen have lately shown their preference in having Arab armies deter the Islamic state, as highlighted in a letter addressed to President Barack Obama by many US congressman.
