On the sidelines of the “The International Symposium on Cultural Diplomacy in Africa 2014,” hosted between August 6th – 8th, 2014 in Berlin, under the theme “Building Economic Bridges to Enhance African Sustainable Development and Economic Growth,” Omar Zniber, the Moroccan ambassador to Germany, said that “Morocco has a unique culture.”

“What is unique in the Moroccan culture is the fact that Morocco is a crossroad. It is a geographical crossroad, a historical crossroad, and a civilizational crossroad,” Zniber said.

“We are in North Africa but at the same time we are a Mediterranean country.

“We are an Arab country but we have of course the Amazigh side of our culture.

The man went on further to say that “this is why Morocco is unique. We are trying to be a bridge between cultures. The European culture, the African one, and the Arab one and [we are trying] to develop this dialogue of cultures and [we are trying ]to develop the alliance of our civilizations and [we are trying] to share and build common values.”
