Manchester City are plotting a move for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

According to reports Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who managed Ramos during his time as Real boss, is eager to sign the Spanish international, Daily Star reported.

Spanish website El Chiringuito claim that the Premier League champions are willing to offer the former Sevilla star a contract worth a staggering £7.7 million a year.

Chelsea were linked with a move for the defender last January, and reports in Spain suggested that Jose Mourinho made an official approach for the 28-year-old.

In March Ramos’ brother and agent Rene confirmed that an English club did make a bid for his client. He refused to confirm if the offer was from Chelsea, but claimed that the bid for his brother was a hefty one.
