Wilders Finally Summoned to Court Over “Fewer Fewer Moroccans” Remarks.

The Dutch authorities finally summoned today the far-right politician Geert Wilders over his racial slur “Fewer Moroccans.”

According to Reuters, the authorities of the Dutch court “named him as a suspect and summoned him for interrogation over alleged racist remarks he made in March.”

The same source went on further to say that Wilders “will be questioned on suspicion of insulting a group on the basis of race and inciting discrimination and hatred, prosecutors said in a statement,” and that “if convicted, he could face up to a year in prison or a fine of up to 7,400 euros ($9,400).”

Wilders is a very controversial figure in the Netherlands. He is well-known for his hate towards migrants. Most of his political discourses are all but void of anti-immigration, anti-Muslim, anti Moroccans or anti Turkish populism.

The “fewer Moroccans” row was triggered when Wilders asked his audience in the city of the Hague if “they wanted more or fewer Moroccans?”

The audience chanted: “Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!” And then Wilders smiled at them and said in a jovial tone “We’ll take care of that.”
