Spanish officials said that about 300 African migrants stormed a Mellilla’s borde fence on Wednesday, leaving at least 10 people injured.
Spanish government officials in Melilla said that the migrants charged to the six-meter triple layer fence from encampments on the other side in the early morning. They added that the migrants have acted with “unusual violence.”
About 140 migrants ended up perched on the fence where they remained for several hours before being seized by Moroccan security forces.
Three migrants made it to the Spanish side. Two were arrested and one is yet to be found. Spanish police plans to charge them with assault and resisting authority.
