Morocco Condemns Israel’s Recent Onslaught On Al-Quds Compound.

A statement from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the recent Israeli onslaught on Al Quds compound as well as the successive provocative statements by some Israeli responsible parties, which attempt to undermine the legal status of Al Quds, set by international resolutions as an inherent part of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967.

The statement said that “the Kingdom of Morocco follows with great concern and deep preoccupation the escalation path, which Israel has chosen concerning the issue of Al Quds Asharif, through successive provocative statements by some Israeli responsible parties, which attempt to undermine the legal status of Al Quds, set by international resolutions as an inherent part of the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, and make the Palestinian issue stick in the labyrinth of religious and sectarian conflicts, in preparation for the occupation of the holy place, via its spatial and temporal division, and through Israel’s systematic and recurrent attacks targeting Al Aqsa Holy mosque and those praying in it, and the intensification of settlements in the holy city.

“Morocco strongly denounces Israel’s aggressive behavior that stimulates the feeling of injustice among Palestinians and millions of Muslims around the world. This behavior goes against the United Nations resolutions on Al Quds Asharif and the other Palestinian occupied territories and undermines the efforts undertaken by the international community, to find a just solution to the conflict, in the Middle East.

“The Kingdom of Morocco calls upon, in this regard, the international community to assume its responsibilities and to exert pressure on Israel to stop its aggression against Al Aqsa Mosque, and to put an end to acts of Judaization and the construction of settlements, in the holy city.

“In this context, the Kingdom of Morocco whose Sovereign, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, May God assist Him, chairs Al Quds Committee, intends to host, in the first week of November 2014, a coordination meeting of the Ministerial group stemming from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in conformity with a recommendation adopted by the 20th session of the Al Quds Committee and the last two meetings of OIC Foreign Ministers Council.

“Through this meeting, the group intends to convey the message of the Islamic world to the great powers on the need to defend Al Aqsa Mosque and Al Quds Asharif, based on the conviction that the respect of the Palestinian people’s rights, with at the top, the right to establish a Palestinian State with Al Quds Asharif as its capital, is the only way for the achievement of a just and lasting peace to the conflict in the Middle East, contributing, thus, to the strengthening of international security and peace .”
