The Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday that three men were arrested after they were suspected of supporting the terror organization ISIS that has violently seized parts of Syria and Iraq.

A French Moroccan and a French citizen were arrested Monday in Kenitra after “engaging in activism and propaganda for ISIS,” including disseminating press releases and video recordings “apologizing for terrorist acts”.

The third person is Algerian and was arrested in Fez, after he was allegedly planning to join his wife, who is already a member of ISIS.

According to the Moroccan authorities, more than 2000 Moroccan jihadists, including Moroccans with dual citizenship, are now fighting in Syria and Iraq.
