RABAT, Morocco-Following today’s meeting in Rabat between CAF officials, headed by Issa Hayatou, and their Moroccan counterparts,  headed by Mr. Ouzzine, the CAF stated that the competition is set to take place on schedule, stressing that the African football body is”unanimous on keeping competition on the dates; namely from January 17 to February 8, 2015″, and that “Caf have asked the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to clarify the position of Morocco by no later than 8 November.

The CAF’s statement did not rule out other countries that wish to replace Morocco from moving forth with their proposals and contacting the African football body.

“Time given to Morocco applies to other associations wishing to organise the Nations Cup on the dates agreed as long as hosting requirements are met.”

South Africa and Tunisia were asked by the CAF few days ago if they are willing to host the tournament, but they blatantly refused, for the same reasons given by Morocco: Ebola Fears.

On the other hand, Egypt and Ghana were reportedly moderately-ready to welcome the African cup.
